Sedation Dentistry

Relax While We Work

Everyone needs dental care, but many are anxious or afraid.  We work hard to minimize the discomfort associated with dental treatment. Medications are available to ease appointments.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide gas (laughing gas) is given to help anxious patients relax prior to treatment. Prior to receiving nitrous oxide it is important to not eat or drink anything two hours prior to the appointment. At the time of appointment it is essential to inform the dental team of any change in medical history. Nitrous oxide has long been used in dentistry and is a safe, reversible anxiolytic.

Conscious Sedation

For apprehensive patients, it is possible to provide medications that will result in conscious sedation. Drowsiness often results from consuming these medications, and it is important to arrange for transportation to and from the dental office.
